Contribution of Advanced Electrical Engineers for “Make in India”
Our prime minister, Mr. Narendra Modi’s new ideology of “Make in India” is showing wonders. Talking about Indian Navy, six submarines are to be launched by India, named ‘Scorpene’. The first French Scorpene class submarine out of six, named ‘INS Kalvari’ (Tiger Shark), started her TRIAL journey into the sea on Sunday (1st May 2016). Before commissioning her into the Indian Navy (September 2016), she will undergo a number of trial tests on the propulsion systems, diving, weapons, etc. Earlier, these were made by Russia and Germany but now countries like India, Spain, Brazil, and Polland are its new members. ‘Scorpene’ submarine is a diesel-electric operated machine headed under French collaboration transferring the project to MDL (Mazagon Dockyard Limited) at Mumbai. Electrical panels, acting as the heart and primary and secondary switchboards, acting as the string for the submarine are being provided by ‘Schneider Electric India Private Limited’. These submarines are the first ones which are using the Electrical Technology for their operation which can be visualized as the future scope for Electrical Engineers (Best taught in Advanced Educational Institutions, Palwal). This initiative of the Prime Minister will give a boost to all the engineers (Electrical and Electronics, Communication engineers) who feel their career is sitting in the back seat of the cart. This submarine will prove to be a boon to the Indian Defense Services. During warships, because of her features, she will emerge out as a ‘never-die ship’.
